A food sharing point is a place where anyone can bring food and take some away for free.
Food savers can bring rescued food – for example, from food banks or supermarkets – to a food sharing point, where you can then collect it for free. But you can also leave food at the food sharing point yourself – food you have left over at home or after an event and can no longer use.
The open-air food sharing point at our university was set up in collaboration with Foodsharing and the University of Oldenburg and is available to everyone to collect food, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, or to share food that you can no longer use yourself. In addition, the food sharing point is regularly supplied with rescued food by food savers. Please always ensure that you only share food that you would still eat yourself.
Please also note that, at the moment, you can only collect food if you are wearing gloves and a face mask.
If you have any questions about the project, please get in touch.
