The AStA’s Social Counseling Service is a central point of contact for virtually all questions and problems that students may encounter in their studies and daily life at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. You can reach out to us with a wide range of concerns, whether they involve organizing your studies, financing your education, studying while raising a child, or urgent emergencies. If you’re not sure whether you’re eligible for financial assistance—such as BAföG, housing assistance, or social benefits—we’ll work with you to determine all the necessary facts.
If we are unable to provide counseling ourselves, we can refer you to the appropriate contacts who can assist you.
During our office hours, you can find us in room M1-153 in the AStA wing. Please be prepared to wait a while, as many students take advantage of our counseling services. The content of our conversations is, of course, confidential.
