Together with Medienbüro e.V., the Cultural Office organises the ‘Studi-Film’ series every semester. Three to four films are screened at Cine k each semester. The films are selected by students on the Cultural Office committee. Students at the University of Oldenburg are granted free admission to the ‘Studi-Film’ screenings.
The Culture Ticket is funded on a solidarity basis by all students at Carl von Ossietzky University who are required to pay fees – just like the Semester Ticket and the Sports Ticket.
This solidarity-based model offers benefits for students, as it makes the ticket more affordable for everyone, and benefits for the partner organisations – who can budget on the basis of a fixed amount. This enables students who lack the financial means to gain access to Oldenburg’s cultural scene. The price of the ticket per person is €3.
The Student Parliament had to pass the final resolution to introduce the ticket. In 2017, a ballot was held in advance amongst all students, in which they could make a recommendation. The result was positive: 84.01 per cent of all participating students voted in favour of introducing a Culture Ticket.
